Extracurricular participation should not be 3 burdensome you should find activities that you find enjoyable and pursue them with passion. 4 Despite what many people think, selective colleges are looking for a well-rounded class, not necessarily well-rounded students. What do we mean 5 by this! An elite college would rather have a community of specialists than a group of generalists. 6 So in choosing your extracurricular activity; go for in-depth involvement in one or two areas instead of superficial involvement in many areas.
